As to what looks like a continued road to expansion of the new state, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Shri Nara Chandrababu Nadi had now directed his officials to start focussing on setting up three new IMAX theaters across three important areas – Visakhapatnam, New Amaravathi (Vijayawada-Guntur stretch) and Tirupati. The government had already received proposals over the construction of multiplexes for entertainment from various private firms operating in all the 13 districts – district headquarters and major town areas of Andhra Pradesh.
While Visakhapatnam is already established with INOX multiplex and new malls, there is a larger scope for the establishment of the same in Tirupati and the new Capital Amaravathi.
This apart, plans are also on for the new mega convention centers with seating capacities of at least 10,000 people, 3-star hotels, shopping malls, food courts and exhibition halls in the major cities. While the Department of Infrastructure will manage the setting up of the mega MICE centers including IMAX, the Tourism department has also been seeking private investors to set up smaller MICE centers with multiplexes, shopping malls and 2000-capacity convention centers.
More plans underway for the planning and expansion of the proposals which will take the engagement of the local residents to a whole new level.
