AP residents to get digital addresses
Andhra Pradesh government will provide Zippr code to all the households across the state. Zippr is a software application to simplify the address into an eight digit alphanumeric code. Touted as the “smart address” mode than regular postal code, once typed on smart phone will automatically show the exact location.
The application is popular with countries like USA. AP will be the first state in the country to introduce smart addresses to all the households.
Currently, IT department is making arrangements to integrate the enabling software to provide codes in the tablets to the ground level staff from revenue and other departments.
“The Zippr code we will provide will rationalise door number system and has many benefits for citizens and government also” J Satyanarayana, IT advisor said.
