Vizag Observes ‘Rededication Day’, CM Confirms Plans

It was a feisty spectacle on the beach road of Vizag yesterday. Hundreds of fire crackers were burst that lit the sky as the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Sri N Chandrababu Naidu addressed a rally. The city celebrated its ‘Rededication Day’ remembering Hudhud after one year of its onset.

Even though most of restoration has happened, there lies more ahead for Vizag to cope with. To this effect, the CM spoke to the people of Vizag and said that there are lot of efforts and a great premise ahead for the city of destiny.

Mr Naidu had also laid the foundation for the beautification of airport that will be taken up by VUDA in collaboration with the Airports Authority of India. The project is said to cost a total of Rs 3.22 Cr.

The Chief Minister also laid foundation for the construction of Film Nagar Cultural Center at Kupulupadda that will stretch across 15 acres at an estimated budget cost of Rs 100 Cr. Incidentally, it was Mr Naidu who laid the foundation for setting up Film Nagar Cultural Center in Hyderabad back in the day in the year 1999.

The Chief Minister addressed the residents of Vizag at the rally, saying that Visakhapatnam with its beautiful and scenic locales was an ideal hub for developing the film industry in Andhra Pradesh. He implored the main film personalities to come forward and contribute to the development of film hub in Vizag.

The people and the CM remembered the damage done by Hudhud and the way things were restored. He stated that with the assistance of the Center, Vizag would be developed in various spheres to stand at par with other important cities in the world.

Mr Naidu requested the people of Vizag to lend an active hand in planting five lakh saplings all over the district that will compensate for the loss of trees due the cyclone. He called upon the people to lead and make it a sustained campaign, protect the saplings and ensure their growth. Union Minister M. Venkaiah Naidu  also presided the event along with the CM. He confirmed that Centre was fully committed to assisting Andhra Pradesh in all possible ways to overcome the impact of bifurcation.
