Finally, the long wait is over for the travelers who frequent the world’s largest pilgrim destinations. Tirupati International Airport is all set to be unveiled.
The new terminal building of the Tirupati International Airport will be inaugurated by none other than Prime Minister Sri Narendra Modi on October 22nd, which happens to be the auspicious day of Vijaya Dasami. New capital city Amaravati will also embark a brand new journey with a foundation laying ceremony on the very day.
Tirupati’s new terminal has been built in an area of Rs 16,500 square meters with a total budget of Rs 175 Cr. The new terminal can handle as many as 700 passengers every single day. The parking lot will accommodate 300 cars, as confirmed by Mr V V Rao, Director of the Tirupati Airport.
Chief Minister Sri N Chandrababu Naidu, Union Minister for Civil Aviation Mr Ashok Gajapati Raju and several other prominent personalities will take part in the inaugural.
Flight operations to international destinations will begin slowly and not immediately, as soon as the air carriers announce their go ahead with the new terminal to operate their flights. The approach road from Tirupati – Srikalahasti highway that goes to the airport will be revamped for better commuting purposes.
