One of the primary initiatives of the state government, solar power will see newer heights in the days to come. Two of the villages in AP, Toorputallu and Pedhamyanavanilanka will now completely run on solar power.

To this effect, a private company will develop a 2 Mega Watt solar power plant where all the power will be bought from the AP Eastern Power Distribution Company Limited (APEPDCL).

Required land has already been marked for the execution of this project. This solar plant is planned to be completed by end of August this year.

This is one of the prime initiatives that also falls under the Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojna that was launched by the Prime Minister. A calibrated development project aimed at the villages where each member of the parliament will take the onus of developing both infrustructure and living conditions in three villages each. This project will go on till the year 2019.
