TTD Chairman Chadalawada Krishnamurthy sprung in an intelligent side of his on Monday while speaking to a national leading newspaper daily. Mr Krishnamurthy termed Amaravati as the well deserving capital for the Telugus.
The Chairman of Tirumal Tirupati Devasthanams pointed out that while the shift of the Telugu capital first began from Madras to Kurnool and later to Hyderabad and was marked by misgivings, the present capital will hopefully be permanent in nature.
Mr Krishnamurthy vouched for the holiness and historical importance of Amaravati, an ancient capital city that saw many rules, situated on the banks of a perennial river. This is a sign that this city will augur well for the state, he implied.
He also stated that as the modern ‘Gateway of India’, Andhra Pradesh will soon overtake all the southern states in terms of development. He strongly hoped for a brighter side of things to happen, indicating that the new capital will take shape sooner than expected, with a dynamic Chief Minister at the helm.
