Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has attended the Business Standard’s AP Round Table 2015 yesterday. During the event, he spoke elaborately on the advantages of investing in Andhra Pradesh and also interacted with entrepreneurs.
Later, he launched the Tourism Mission which aims to make Andhra Pradesh one of the best tourist destinations in the country.
The tourism mission document highlights emerging tourism trends, challenges, growth projections, tourism contribution to economy, mission objectives, strategy intervention and road map to achieve the tourism objectives.
The document has identified important tourism themes based on their inherent strengths of Andhra Pradesh, and also proposes development on “HUB & SPOKE MODEL” in key locations.
Curtain Raiser for AP Tourism Mission
The Tourism Mission is a sub-mission of the Service Sector Mission among the 7 Missions on which the government rides.
To boost development in the tourism sector, the tourism mission document & new policy has been formulated, in partnership and consultation with tourism stakeholders and tourism experts that include travel agents, tour operators, hoteliers, resort owners, architects, consultants and other private investors.
Additionally, the other key developmental areas identified include marketing & brand building, strengthening governance & institutional framework and capacity building for generating adequately skilled manpower in the tourism sector of Andhra Pradesh.
To implement the mission roadmap and monitor its progress, leadership teams – Mission Governing Body (MGB) and Mission Support Unit (MSU) are structured under the leadership of the Hon’ble CM and the Principal Secreatary, Tourism respectively to provide the overall guidance to the Tourism Sub-Mission.
