Today marks the auspicious dawn of Vaikunta Ekadasi, a sacred day for Lord Vishnu’s followers that comes once in a year. Today is considered to be a direct connect with the supreme divine, as the gates of Vaikuntam are said to be open. This is the very reason why people who come into the world or expire during this day are considered to be extremely blessed in the Hindu context.
Tirumala sees the heaviest traffic on Vaikunta Ekadasi, and the management is all geared up to tackle the oncoming pilgrims comfortably. TTD executive officer, Dr D. Sambasiva Rao, has personally inspected the arrangements for Vaikunta Ekadasi and Vaikunta Dwadasi that have begun from the early hours today (21 Dec) which will continue for the entire day in different spells.
As part of the inspection, Dr Rao has visited the VQC II compartments and checked the food arrangements made for them. Later, he had interacted with the pilgrims about the available amenities. The pilgrims who are present have also expressed immense satisfaction. The great Govinda Mala devotees also expressed their happiness over the arrangements and the hour to hour food supply that has been made in compartments.
TTD has made special arrangements for the pilgrims who come on foot via Narayanagiri Gardens. Special carpets have been laid in the gardens to enable the pilgrims to relax instead of waiting in long queue lines. Food, snacks, beverages are also supplied to them by the Annaprasadam wing from time to time.
