After making news with her bows and arrows, Vijayawada ‘s three-year-old kid archer Dolly Shivani Cherukuri is all set to hit the silver screen.
Shivani hit the headlines world-over when she created a new record in archery last month by hauling 378 points – 178 more than the required tally – in the five and seven kilo meters distances – both in recurve segment – to enter the India Book of Records.
“Inspired by the prodigy’s determination and dedication, Mr. Sanjeev, the writer of “Osey Ramulamma” has decided to make a feature film and registered the name of film as “Dolly Shivani”.
A rough script has already been written and the film will be based on a flashback narration by child’s father,” said Shivani’s father and chairman of the Volga Archery Academy Satyanarayana said.
The focal point of the film will be the efforts by Shivani’s father convincing the coach who declines the offer to train the child. He shares with the coach all the tribulations and ignominy he faced after the death of his daughter and son and the reasons to make the little child an Olympian,” Satyanarayana added.
According to sources, the film will be more of an inspirational one like – Mayuri, a film based on actress Sudha Chandran in the 80s, who portrays the role of a girl who makes it big in the world of dance by donning a Jaipur foot. Jaipur Foot is a rubber-based prosthetic leg for people with below-knee amputations.
