Yes, CID will have its presence in Kurnool real soon. The Crime and Criminal Tracking Network System (CCTNS) is set to be launched, as confirmed by the Director-General of Police J.V. Ramudu.
The new CCTNS that has been sponsored by the center will improve the efficiency of the police service delivery, going by the DGP who spoke to the the media after laying foundation stone for a CID regional office on APSP II Battalion premises in Kurnool. The Police Department will effectively utilise this technology at close quarters in order to track down the criminals.
This apart, the Police Department also plans to recruit 3,000 personnel out of 6,000 posts approved by the government very soon. These personnel will be recruited soon and another 3000 in the second phase, the DGP said. Going by his analysis, close to 45 per cent of the vacancies across all the districts will also be filled at the same time.
The new Crime Investigation Department regional office building is planned to be built at a budget of Rs. 3.50 crore granted by the Centre as well as the State.
This building will be the fourth in the State after Guntur, Visakhapatnam, and Rajahmundry.
