Chennai flood situation has been uncontrollable over the last few days. Extending a noble hand, Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences (SVIMS), the super specialty hospital managed by the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) organised a medical camp for the flood victims in Chennai.
The camp has been set up in association with the Ruia Government General Hospital and Balaji Institute of Surgery, Research and Rehabilitation for the Disabled (BIRRD) trust orthopaedic hospital. A 60-member contingency team constituting super specialists and paramedical staff left for Chennai in the early hours on Tuesday in a bus, followed by five ambulances and two four-wheelers.
The camp was held at Tondiarpet and the fishing area of New Washermanpet in the flood-hit North Chennai region. Medicines worth Rs.10 lakh were distributed to patients at the health camp that was specially arranged.
