AP Govt has mulled action against drivers exceeding speed limit of 80kmph on National Highways.
To bring down the number of road accidents in the state, thereby reducing deaths due to over speeding and reckless/drunk driving in the state, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has directed officials to ensure that strict action is taken against those who exceed the speed limit of 80 kmph on the National Highways.
In a teleconference held today, he added that the transport department should estimate the distance between two consecutive toll gates and estimate the speed limit of vehicles depending on that distance.
“Based on the estimated speed arrived at after calculating it, if vehicles exceed that limit, action should be taken against them,” he added.
Strict action will be hereby taken on those who indulge in reckless speeding on the National Highways.
