Solar Street Lighting Launched In The Hamlets of Krishna District

After the low cost power saving LED bulb revolution that is ongoing in AP, solar street lighting takes over. First of its kind solar street light system was officially inaugurated in the Parrachivara Panchayat of Nagayalanka Mandal in Krishna District yesterday.

The solar stree lighting was launched by M Buddha Prasad, Deputy Speaker. The lighting system has been provided by the Bondada Engineering Private Limited (BEPL) based out of Hyderabad. This energy saving solar street lighting system includes poles that have been installed across 26 locations in the Parrachivara Panchayat.

The panchayat itself comprises of seven coastal hamlets. And out of the 26 lighting points installed, as many as 10 points have self-timer facility and run purely on solar energy.

The villagers on Sunday also had a chance to interact with the Deputy Speaker, citing their woes on the poor electricity facility .

Going by the officials at BEPL, the validity of the solar lighting system installed is nearly 30 years and the villagers are allowed to contact the company for any need of repair and maintenance. BEPL also promised necessary support to create rural infrastructure in the village through Corporate Social Responsibility in future.
