Industries in AP will see a new influx with water supply. For better management, AP Govt has earmarked a separate supply of water to industrial areas in the state.
A video conference was made where the Chief Secretary, IYR Krishna Rao had interacted with the District Collectors of Ananthapuramu and Kurnool along with the officials of the Water Resources (WR) and Industries Departments in order to discuss on the supply of water to the Industries.
Detailed project was prepared by the Industries Department for providing water supply to prioritized Industrial Clusters. The list includes Orvakallu Cluster in Kurnool District, Yerpedu-Srikalahasthi cluster, Donakonda Cluster, Gorantla-Hindupur Clusters etc.
Primary assessment of the exact water requirement for these industrial areas had been calculated based on the categories; high water intensive industries (viz) Pharmaceutical, Textile; medium water intensive (viz) Automobile, food / beverages, engineering etc.; and low water intensive are briefed in the meeting.
This kind of segregation of facilities such as infrastructure, uninterrupted electricity and water to the Industries the state of Andhra Pradesh is likely to attract investors from all over the world in a big way, as confirmed by the Chief Secretary.
The segregation exercise will not only benefit the industries with continuous water supply but also will enable the state government to separate water for domestic and drinking water purposes away from that of industrial use.
