The plans are ongoing to develop the Tirupati city in lines with that of Tirumala. Confirming progress, TTD Trust Board Chairman Sri Chadalawada Krishnamurthy said that a budget of Rs 10 crore has been now released by the management towards various developmental activities. This includes construction of improvised roads and beautification of the temple city.
Tirupati, on the other hand, is also one of the cities that have been identified under the Smart Cities Project by the AP Government, and the extra fund flow will be an add on to enhance the world’s largest pilgrim destinations.
He stated that over the past one year, several changes have been made with regards to the amenities provided to the pilgrims. The waiting time for Darshan had come down significantly, going by the past year’s record.
Other plans are also in the pipeline, and these include construction of Vakulamata Temple in Peruru Village, improvised rates of Arjitha Seva tickets and commencement of current booking for Darshan tickets.
