Heavy rains have clearly taken a toll on important parts of the state, and AP state govt is prepped up, ready and alert to meet any kind of flood contingency situation.
Ensure proper distribution of relief, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu said, after a teleconference on the floods in Palnadu region.
“Even if one person complains that he did not receive any relief, I will act tough on the officers,” he warned officials.
Standing crops, mostly paddy, chilli, and cotton, suffered extensive damage in over 41,000 hectares of Guntur district alone. The government will take up enumeration of damages once the rains subside and also provide input subsidy to farmers to raise alternative crops.
While the damage control is ongoing, the weather predictions indicate some more rains in the days to come.
