With a mission to extend further power amenities to the farming sector in the state, the Chief Minister has directed the Energy Department to provide additional hours of power to the agriculture sector. This will save standing crops despite the fact that there would be additional burden on the energy department.
CM wants the department to work alongside Agriculture, Irrigation, and Revenue departments so as to arrive at a solution that prevents drying up of crops in the state.
Mr N Chandrababu Naidu said that rain guns or drip irrigation, tankers, and other technologies etc should be fully utilised on a large scale basis to address the ongoing dry spell.
To this effect, Principal Secretary (Energy) Ajay Jain has already directed all the District Collectors to identify areas where additional hours of power / day-time supply was required and bring the same to the notice of the Discoms.
