Ongole city police have gone ahead and made best possible use of technology in order to nab the criminals. The cops have resorted to using the geo tagging technology in order to keep an eye on all the rogues and crooks operating in the suspicious premises of the city.
The criminals will have no hiding this time, as they will now be geo-tagged with their photograph and complete individual data. Close to 300 rowdy-sheeters and their residences have been mapped with latitude and longitude coordinates with the help of the Global Positioning System. This was confirmed by Ongole Deputy Superintendent of Police G. Srinivasa Rao. Rao believes that the power of GPS can help in the long run to keep a check on the crime rate in the city, with micro level supervision. The tagging has been done at all the busy centres across the city to monitor not only vehicular traffic but also nab offenders super fast.
Command Control Centre is working closely with the Ongole Police on the matter. The CCC will keep a close watch on the region 27X7, while offering all the technical support to the local jurisdiction.
Not only this, the cops of Ongole want to address the problem at grass root level. The police is arrangement psychiatric counselling and treatment to the crooks and understand the base issues that they operate in the middle of before becoming rogue.
