Skill development in Andhra Pradesh is all set to get a new high. AP State Skill Development Corporation will now collaborate with National Association of Software and Services Companies (NASSCOM) to train the youth in the areas of cyber security and data analytics.
Close to 36 institutions in Andhra Pradesh will be partnering in this initiative, as per a recent official release. Select set of faculty members will be trained at first, in the pilot program that will be held in association with NASSCOM from December 7th. This program will go on till 11th.
“After this training, the courses would be offered to the pre-final engineering students in these institutions, the advantage being the course content and design has been developed with the help of Industry trainers of Nasscom,” the official release said.
Going by the statistics, the IT security market was estimated to be at $77 billion worldwide in 2015 and is growing at over 8% every year.
The demand for security workforce is likely to increase globally to 6 million by 2019. The number presently stands at 4 million, with projected shortfall of 1.5 million.
IT security market in India is now estimated to be 1% of the overall IT-BPM industry and rapid growth in security software product segment is projected to be at $250 million revenues in FY 2015.
An estimate of 5 lakh jobs would be available into application security and data security fields across the world, the statement said.
