Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Sri N Chandrababu Naidu met Hon’ble Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe yesterday (7 July 2015) during his four day visit to meet the potential investors there.
During the meeting, the Japanese Prime Minister assured the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh that Japan will extend all technical and possible financial assistance to AP for infrastructure and building of the new capital Amaravati. Mr. Abe appreciated the state government’s efforts to attract investments towards the same.
Mr Naidu also invited Shinzo Abe to the foundation stone-laying ceremony of Amaravati. The Chief Minister assured Mr. Abe that Hon’ble Prime Minister Sri Narendra Modi would also write to him, cordially inviting him for the ceremony.
Further, Mr Chandrababu Naidu made a request to make some institutionalized arrangement to harness the AP-Japan relationship. Mr Abe replied in the affirmative.
Later, the Chief Minister presented the famous Tirupati Prasadam and a “sacred shawl” from Lord Balaji’s abode to the Prime Minister. Abe recalled that during his earlier visit too, the Chief Minister had presented it during his election campaign.
Meeting between the two high powered individuals lasted for 15 minutes.
