The much awaited International Fleet Review begins today at Visakhapatnam. Eastern Naval Command is all geared up to host one of the prestigious events on the waters of Bay of Bengal, where 50 countries will come together.
The event begins today and goes on in series of events until 8th February of this month. Viewers can expect close to 90 ships that include 24 warships from the foreign countries with a representation from 24 naval chiefs.
The command is prepared to conduct the elaborate proceedings in the coming 4 day event, as confirmed by the Flag Officer Commanding- in-Chief and Eastern Naval Command Vice Admiral Satish Soni.
Almost 70 to 75 helicopters of various types and makes will also exhibit their talents in the review. The Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces and President of India Sri Pranab Mukherjee will embark on a Presidential Yacht, INS Sumitra, post the inspection of the guard of honor that will be presented by 150 naval personnel on the opening day today.
Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Sri N Chandrababu Naidu, Union Cabinet Ministers, State Cabinet Ministers and CMs from more than 10 states, all Chiefs of Armed Forces, Chief of Naval staff, and a host of other important delegates are set to take part in the fleet review.
