Grand Plans in Store for the Kakinada Beach Festival

Kakinada Beach Festival will see a feasty fervor for the patrons this year. Major plans are on for exciting attractions, such as sea planes, helicopter trips, water sports and special tourism packages that will enthrall the visitors and tourists.

With a mission to make the festival a nationwide hit, the East Godavari district administration is putting in all the efforts to attract more tourists and make the Kakinada Beach Festival an unforgettable experience for the people this year. Kakinada Beach Festival will be held for three days starting January 9th.

AP state government has chalked out a well devised plan for conducting nine different festivals across three days, such as Visakha Utsav, Flamingo Festival, the ‘Kakinada Sagara Sambaralu’ (Kakinada Beach Festival) at the Vakalapudi beach on Kakinada coast, as well as the well known ‘Prabhala Utsvav’ in the Konaseema area in East Godavari district.

Kakinada Beach Festival has been conducted on a large scale grandeur for the past three years. This time, the state government plans to organize the festival in a much grandiose manner. Tourism officials and the district administration are jointly working towards chalking out tourism packages to attract more visitors this year.

“Beach Festival is being organised with public and private partnership. Various committees would be formed for organizing the prestigious event. In particular, we are concentrating on ground map and traffic management plans,’’ said district collector H. Arunkumar, while speaking to the media.

He has asked the municipal commissioner, S. Aleem Basha, Kakinada revenue divisional officer B.R. Ambedkar and tourism officials to prepare an action plan for conducting the event in a grand manner.

According to the internal sources, sea planes that are now available in Goa and Kerala will be hired for the three day  Beach Festival in Kakinada.

Going in the similar lines, helicopters trips have been earlier organised during the Maha Pushkaralu. Officials want to make use of the same services for the beach festival as well. Hope Island and Coringa Mangroves will become special attractions for the beach festival.

Food courts with delicious cuisines, fashion show, kite show, flower show, handlooms and textiles show will be organised in the event.

Big aquariums, horses, camels etc are being available for the festival. The collector also added that a short film would be shot and exhibited across the state for attracting people to come attend the festival.
