Chief Minister, Sri N. Chandrababu Naidu laid the foundation stone for Acharya NG Ranga Agriculture University (ANGRAU) yesterday (16 Nov 2015) at the Regional Agriculture Research Station in Lam Farm, Guntur.
Towards this project, the Union Government has already released Rs.50 crore for taking up the construction works of the university to come up in an area spiraling 500 acres.
ANGRAU will have state-of-the-art facilities in the areas of advanced post-graduate centres and centres for excellence in research in frontier areas of agriculture, agriculture engineering and other sectors related to agriculture, apart from being a big boost to farmers in the state. Several dignitaries were present at the event, including the Civil Aviation Minister Ashok Gajapathi Raju and Union Minister Venkaiah Naidu.
Only yesterday, it was confirmed that nationally reputed Petroleum University (UPES) will be set up in Visakhapatnam. Plans are on to take the project ahead in a phase wise manner.
