Floating Hotels and Yacht Clubs Soon On Bhavani Island

Written by

Bhavani island, one of the most prominent island spots in the Krishna district will soon see a massive facelift as a hot tourism destination. AP government had been extensively working towards converting all the great locales of the state into viable tourist destinations. As part of this mission, plans are on to convert Bhavani island into one of the best vacation spots in the world.

To this effect, major plans are underway to make the dream come true. With a target tourists at a global level, stunning renovations are being proposed in and around the island area. The government intends to set up  as many as 100 hotels at the island for the ease and comfort of the tourist stay. There is also a new concept of ‘floating hotel’ being envisioned that will be set up on the waters of the river Krishna. In addition to the above, various water sport centers are also being proposed that would keep the travelers engaged through the days, just like in Goa.

While there is one Double Decker cruise that is currently operating in the area, state government intends to take the cruise fever a few notches further. An exclusive Yacht Club is on the talks which will be set up with a budget of Rs 113 cr. High end cruises with state of the art AC rooms, restaurants and cottages are also in the proposal. The government intends to attract exhaustive tenders from global players who will be interested in investing in the fully potent and historic island. There is a great scope with Bhavani island towards enhancing the image of AP Tourism in front of the world as such. Though previous governments have constantly sidelined the thought to empower state’s islands and lighthouses, the current government is leaving no stone not turned to make this into a reality.

A welcome sign for improvising and capitalizing on the great tourism potential of the state. Other plans are also in vogue, and the proposals are actively in motion and under detailed review in order to explore what’s best for the AP economy.
