CM spends a day in Nellore, interacts with people in the flood-hit areas. Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu spent his day reviewing relief operations in flood-hit areas of Nellore district yesterday.
Mr Naidu had directed R&B officials to take immediate steps to repair all the damaged roads in district on a war-footing basis. He further instructed the district collector to form committees with revenue officials to assess the damage to infrastructure, property and crops in the district and submit the report within two days.
Meanwhile, the Chief Minister also gave instructions to the traffic police personnel to regulate traffic on NH5 and complete the repair works of the road immediately. At the onset of the great depression in Bay of Bengal and heavy rains in AP, the CM prepped the rescue and relief teams to be on a stand by in case of emergencies. He had also written an elaborate letter to the Prime Minister, seeking financial help of Rs 1000 Cr towards the relief operations in the areas that have been badly affected.
