“Community involvement is essential for disaster response & relief”
CM at World Congress on Disaster Management
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu stole the show one more time, when he highlighted on the need for the involvement of the community in carrying out relief during disasters. The CM spoke while addressing a vivid audience at the World Congress on Disaster Management at Visakhapatnam yesterday night (19 Nov 2015).
Mr Naidu urged the experts, stakeholders and NGO dealing with disaster management to give their suggestions and preventive measures to minimize the disaster risks during natural calamities like cyclones, earthquakes and floods.
The Chief Minister said the Sate Government has prepared a blue print on disaster management after learning lessons from the recent cyclones in the state including the Cyclone Hudhud which hit the Visakhapatnam city on October 12, 2014. “We have to take more precautions on disasters to minimize the human and property loss.” he said.
