While at Davos, the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Sri N. Chandrababu held a bilateral meeting with Marillyn Hewson, CEO, Lockheed Martin. Lockheed Martin is the leading US manufacturer of civil and military satellites. The conversation went productive when Ms. Hewson told the Chief Minister that Lockheed was planning to shift parts of their manufacturing facility from Texas to India, and they were looking for a suitable location. The Chief Minister had immediately briefed on the advantage of Andhra Pradesh as an attractive investment destination for the defence sector.
Lockheed Martin is currently one of the world’s premier companies into aerospace, defense, security, and technologies industry. The company operates in five business segments: Aeronautics, Information Systems & Global Solutions, Missiles and Fire Control, Mission Systems and Training, and Space Systems. The organization had also received the prestigious Collier Trophy six times. If Lockheed Martin decides to choose Andhra Pradesh for setting up its next manufacturing facility, the scope of such a collaboration is highly beneficial for both the entities.
