Trina Solar, a leading Chinese solar power equipment manufacturer, has now signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Andhra Pradesh state government to set up one of their plants within the state. The pact was signed yesterday (17 Nov 2015) with an investment of Rs. 2,800 crore.
Trina Solar will set its new plant at Atchutapuram in Visakhapatnam district. The agreement was signed between
SS Rawat, Andhra Pradesh’s secretary for industries, and Chen Shou Chung, vice president of Trina Solar in the presence of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu in Vijayawada.
Mr Naidu was elated at the deal and said that this collaboration will give a huge boost to the energy-efficient practices currently being promoted by the state government, thereby creating employment opportunities for close to 3,500 people.
Chinese player Trina Solar is one the world’s leading companies that operates extensively in the manufacture of crystalline silicon photovoltaic modules and system integration. The plant also develops and produces ingots, wafers, solar cells and solar modules.
