Chandranna Bima to benefit 1.5 crore workers in unorganised sector
Launching the ‘Chandranna Bima’ scheme, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu said that the scheme will benefit 1.5 crore workers in the unorganised sector.
According to the guidelines of the scheme, kin of the worker would receive an ex gratia of Rs 5 lakh in case of death of the bread winner in an accident. The family would receive Rs 50,000 relief if it is a natural death.
The field staff of the smart pulse survey will enrol the workers and daily wagers who earn less than Rs 15,000 per month. While the government is collecting a token Rs 15 as premium from the beneficiary, it is paying Rs 135 to shoulder the remaining burden.
