Sunday marked a hubbub of religious activity at Tripurantakam, the eastern gateway to Srisailam. Chandi Mahayagam and Navakoti Kumkumarchana were performed with great observance.
Pilgrims from far and wide thronged to the venue and witnessed the Yagam. The sacred ritual is performed to pray for rainfall and well being of the mankind. The goddess Chandi (Durga) is decorated with one lakh bangles along with star shaped ground plan.
The famous Bilvarchana (prayer with Lord Shiva’s favorite Bilva leaves) is also performed to the Lord Tripurantakeswara that will conclude on September 12th.
