Is the Centre Treating AP as Part of the Nation? CM’s Comments Make us Think

Written by

The story is expected to take a new turn, after several protests coming from TDP directed against the Centre. After Jayadev Galla’s effective rhetoric and ongoing protests for demands to release funds to the state, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley made a statement that raised eyebrows. The FM remarked that the funds made to AP were ‘inadequate’. This made the CM, N Chandrababu Naidu discuss one important doubt with his team; “The Centre is behaving in such a way that it is making people of AP feel that they are not part of the nation”.

The CM who is presently in Dubai made a quick teleconference with the MPs including two ministers from the cabinet.

The MPs then read out Finance Minister Arun Jaitley’s statement in Parliament to the CM.They also told him that the party should continue being firm and tough towards the Centre.

The CM has reportedly told the MPs he will do the next round of teleconference with them on Friday.

It is said TDP will take a firm decision on the future course of action right after important talks between state and central officials. Emphasis would be strictly laid more on the revenue deficit and externally-aided projects.

The emotions are riding high, with a prominent gap growing between TDP and BJP. It also feels as though TDP will walk out of the alliance with NDA if things do not work out as expected.

BJP representatives too, on the other hand, are extremely upset over TDP’s constant and strong demands in the last few days. It remains to be seen if the differences would be sorted out soon, and if all the demands of the state government will be met with assurance by the centre.
