Cambridge University, one of the most reputed educational institutions in the world is all set to establish one of its campuses in Amavarati.
As confirmed by the Union Minister of State for Science and Technology Y. Satyanarayana (Sujana) Chowdary, the Cambridge university has agreed to start a not for profit organisation to begin with. The proceeds of this organisation would then be utilized in the fields of education and research. Cambridge would subsequently set up its campus in the new capital in the due course.
An outcome of Mr Chowdary’s invite to the university authorities to partner with Andhra Pradesh will soon see fast development. AP has always been a state that has put education on the forefront. The university authorities confirmed their interest in starting operations from Andhra Pradesh during their recent visit to New Delhi.
AP Govt will set up a three member committee to hold the deemed negotiations with the Cambridge University. A delegation from the main university will visit Andhra Pradesh.
