Biometric Aadhaar System of Krishna Dist To Be Adopted by Tanzania

The bio-metric Aadhaar system of Krishna district is soon to become a best practice for one of the well known East African countries, Tanzania. Thats right, an exclusive team from the World Bank team had recently completed a study on Aadhaar-enabled services in fertilizer distribution, public distribution system and distribution of pensions during their ten day visit to Krishna district.

This team has taken up the case study of Krishna district in order to adopt it in Tanzania, one of the East African countries. The team had a detailed interaction with the district collector, Mr A Babu, who said that the experts from Tanzania recently did a study on Aadhaar-enabled services, distribution of pensions, bio metric technology adopted in management of government hospitals, Integrated Child Development Services and other welfare schemes.

During this interaction, the team from the¬†World Bank was also briefed about the Union Government’s appreciation for the Krishna district authorities over their successful pilot project in fertilizer distribution and National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme. The team had documented the biometric system and its use in banking services during a meet with bankers during the visit.
