A leader who left many lessons to many followers, MLA of Telugu Desam Party Bhuma Nagi Reddy breathed his last today. He was 53. The well admired and respected MLA elect from Nandyal, Bhuma died of a massive heart attack. As confirmed by his relatives, he suffered heart attack on Sunday morning and was admitted to Suraksha Hospital.
The doctors tried to resuscitate him but their efforts went in vain. A charismatic leader, Bhuma made an entree into politics in 1987, soon after the death of his father Bhuma Bali Reddy. Bhuma contested from Allagadda Assembly in 1991 after his brother Bhuma Sekhar Reddy passed away.
Nagi Reddy came into spotlight in 1996, when he contested against P V Narasimha Rao, the then Prime Minister. Bhuma flaunted millions of fans who admired his impeccable leadership skills. His wife, Late Shobha Nagi Reddy was equally admired for her agile capabilities with her stint as a YSR Congress Allagadda representative.
Sources say that Bhuma was in depression after the demise of his wife. They are survived by two daughters and a son.
