AP’s Generous Tribute to the Late Siachen Avalanche Warrior

The late warrior who served the nation till his last breath, Sepoy Mushtaq Ahmed will go down the history as one of the bravest soldiers from Kurnool. Ahmed, who was killed in the recent Siachen Avalanche will be given due respect and contrubution from the AP State Government.

Andhra Pradesh government has decided to pay Rs 25 lakh as the ex gratia to Ahmed;s family. This decision was made at the cabinet meeting that was held yesterday (15 Feb 2016), presided by the Chief Minister Sri N Chandrababu Naidu.

This apart, one of the family members will also be given a government job, as a mark of respect. The CM’s Communication office stated that the cabinet also paid homage to Ahmed during the meeting.

Sepoy Mushtaq Ahmed from Kurnool was one of the 10 Army personnel who were killed in the Siachen Avalanche that took place earlier in February.

Ahmed’s body was taken to Nandyal in Kurnool district yesterday evening and was buried at his native village Parnapalli with the deserving police honors.
