AP to Lit Up With 2.05 Lakh Additional Streetlights
As many as 3.45 lakh LED streetlights have already been installed in Andhra Pradesh so far, The state government, with a mission to illuminate AP is further looking at a target of 5.5 lakh such streetlights in the days to come. The aim is to save energy to the maximum extent possible, said chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu.
This is in addition to the 2 crore LED bulbs which have brightened the lives of people across the state in the last few months.
The Chief Minister has further directed 13 district collectors to ensure that all government offices and schools use only LED bulbs and other energy-efficient electrical appliances from now on. He pointed out that 5-star rated electrical items such as LED bulbs consume less power when compared to other appliances.
The project is one of the priority programs that will help Andhra Pradesh become the No.1 state in the country on the energy-efficiency front sooner than later.
These programs will protect the environment and also promote economic growth with low carbon footprint, the CM emphasized. The whole country is watching at our developments and taking suggestions from us, the Chief Minister added.
