All the sports facilities in the state have now been successfully geo tagged. This means that any information about the facilities can be identified by smart phone users. Several avenues such as stadiums, swimming pools, Kreeda Vikas Kendras and play fields can be looked up with a simple swipe.
The Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh (SAAP) has been working on the project, to streamline all the data with effective accessibility. This makes way for even recognizing local promising talents across districts hailing from all age groups.
N Bangaru Raju, Managing Director and Vice Chairman spoke to a leading newspaper daily and spoke about the progress. He said that SAAP will be beginning admissions for the academies using Big Data and Internet of Things to cull the data.
This data based system will rule out scope for bias and favoritism. Selections will purely be made on facts and data. Raju also stated that under the sports for all concepts, mandal level competitions in volleyball, kabaddi, football and kho kho will also be held.
There is also a huge importance being given to water sports academies. Raju said that four venues – Vijayawada, Yerrakalava, Nagayalanka and Tadipudi have been finalized for conducting water sports academies which will start operations from June 1st
Plans are on launch SAAP League, SAAP Masters League with deserving pensions to the retired coaches.
