Andhra Pradesh now ranks first among all Indian states with largest employee level, according to the latest India Skills Report.
The India Skills Report is a joint initiative of online talent assessment firm Wheebox along with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Linkedin, PeopleStrong and Association of Indian Universities (AIU).
As per this report, the new state of Andhra Pradesh has the highest ’employability’ level with 65.2 pc of skilled workforce. This comes largely under the 22-25 years age group, and shows a considerable increase from the earlier 31% posted in the 2015 report.
Vishakapatnam (85.53%) and Guntur (81.07%) have scored the highest in employability index within the state.
The results have been declared from the Wheebox Employability Skill Test (WEST), which assessed close to five lakh candidates spread across 5,000 educational campuses in all the 29 states and seven union territories (UTs) in the country. This assessment has been made on various skill parameters, including numerical and logical ability, communication skills, and domain knowledge etc.
AP also has a remarkable number of women employable force of 70.26 %, beating their male counterparts of 50.33 %. Under the psychometric tests, Andhra Pradesh is now leading in English language & computers skills but still ranks low in numerical & logical reasoning aptitude.
The study projects an overall increase of 14.5 pc in the hiring outlook for the year 2016. The maximum hiring activity is presently seen in Maharashtra, Karnataka, Delhi, Tamil Nadu, Punjab, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Haryana, respectively, according to a release.
