Chief Minister Sri N Chandrababu Naidu had lately received visitors from the illustrious Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. The world famous foundation that is known to actively work on various causes brought forth an interesting and useful proposition for the new state of Andhra Pradesh.

In a meeting with Nachiket Mor, director, India office, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and other delegates, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu discussed on how the Foundation will partner with the state in supporting a new initiative in the health sector under which clinical specialists could offer their services free of cost or on an honorarium in all government hospitals.

This will be a first-of-its-kind initiative in the country. Clinical specialists can come forward voluntarily to offer their services in all government hospitals. Another option that the government is mulling is to pay them honorarium through the ‘NTR Vaidya Seva’. It can be a part-time, full-time or short-time service.
The delegates of the Foundation also discussed about developing city-wide models combining access to toilets with local solutions for treatment and safe disposal of human waste.
