The plans for the development of Amaravati have kicked off. As per the latest news surrounding the new city, Amaravati will be a beautiful mix of blue and green network that reflects greenery, water and sustainability.
The People’s Capital Amaravati is blessed with a rich array of natural and environmental features. These include the Krishna River, Kondapalli Reserved Forest, Mangalagiri Reserved Forest, Tadepalli Reserved Forest among others.
In addition to this, there are several canals and river tributaries that pass through the Capital city area that are being considered in the planning.
AP Govt is also planning to create along with the existing ecosystem, a network of parks and greens by integrating the village ponds where every citizen will have an access to these parks within walking distance.
Giving important to the natural features, the govt will utilize the natural features such as forest and hills to create a regional green network and reserve most of the waterfront along Krishna River for public use.
In addition, plans are also on to make it mandatory to retain the green network reserved as states in the Amaravati Capital city Plan and also reserve high-value agriculture land as no development zone wherever possible.
On the whole, Amaravati will be a city sitting within the water and greens. We can be assured that every step is being taken to strike an ecological balance and make this People’s Capital a sustainable city of the future.
