10,000 AP Students To Be Trained in Developing Android Apps

A.P. State Skill Development Corporation has begun a nation wide workshop on ‘Google Android Developer Fundamentals’. The initial kick off happened at Vasireddy Venkatadri Institute of Technology (VVIT), where all the senior members of Google India took part.

The workshop is a huge success, and aims a long run mission to empower the students of AP and India with Android App developing skills. CEO of APSSDC, Ghanta Subba Rao spoke on the occasion and said that mobile technology is destined to see revolutionary changes in the coming days. He claimed that 85 per cent of mobile phones in India worked on the Android operating system that has been developed by Google.

This workshop gives momentum to Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu’s initiative to train the engineering graduates in making socially useful Android apps. The skill development center will bring in faculty members from more than 100 engineering colleges who would be trained in the workshop.

Mr. Rao said that 10,000 students would be trained in developing Android apps. So far, out of the 70,000 students trained by the Corporation, 7,000 have been already placed in different companies.
