The grandeur of Tirumala is known to travel far and wide. One of the world’s biggest pilgrim destinations, Tirumala continues to cast the magic on those who traverse across the continents to come and seek the blessings of Lord Venkateswara.
The recent visit by the Chief of American Citizen Services (ACS) J Barrett Travis proves that. Travis, who works for US Consulate General, Hyderabad was left impressed. He said that Tirumala is as clean and hygienic as the Vatican City and the Disneyland. The Chief interacted with EO Sri Sambasiva Rao for a good amount of time. He particularly applauded the work put in place by the TTD team in the recent times, enhancing the pilgrim experience with cleaner environment and effective logistics.
Travis also spoke at length with the team, praising the system in place that tackles heavy traffic every single day. Effective crowd management, free food distribution at prime points during the Darshan, organised parking spaces and equipped facilities caught his attention.
“Despite the limited area, the environs and cleanliness is on par with Vatican City and Disneyland. It is quite astounding and not to mention the voluntary service system adopted by the temple management and exceptional hospitality,” he said.
EO in turn briefed Travis about the facilities that are particularly offered to the American Citizens, such as accommodation while seeking Lord’s Darshan. He highlighted about the online booking facility that is now being utilized by people in more than 100 countries.
