The annual floral festival, Pushpayagam was performed yesterday in the ancient sacred shrine of Sri Govindaraja Swamy Temple yesterday, 24 June.
The religious fervor of offering vast floral tribute to the Lord was introduced only last year. Lord Govindaraja Swamy along with his two consorts was seated on a royally decked throne and was rendered a rich floral bath with 12 varieties of aromatic flowers and six traditional leaves.
The event was a visual delight to many devotees who gathered at thee temple premises to watch the ritual in progress.
Several TTD officials, including EO Dr D Sambasiva Rao, were present during the occasion.
