Taking local tourism to global standards has long been in the core objectives of AP Tourism. Andhra’s long coastline becomes one of the primary areas of focus, especially the one in the Prakasam district.
Prakasam flaunts a 100 km long coastline, that is yet to be tapped into the scope of state tourism. Given the bounty of scenery, there is a lot of enhancement and beautification that can happen to the stretch. Beach resorts come immediately into mind, those that can tap the flowing traffic of both national and international tourists.
Considering the same, the State government has prepared a blueprint to develop a series of beach resorts on the Prakasam coastline. This would also involve pulling in collaborations with the private investors.
Once the beach resorts are established, the zone will automatically turn hot and happening, not only from the tourism point of view, but business dynamics in totality. The CM is now said to be extensively looking at effective proposals that can pull off the plan on a big scale. Beach resorts can be set up at points along the line, such as Kothapatnam, Ramayapatnam, Vodarevu and Ramapuram.
There are also talks about building a, exciting amusement park in Kothapatnam, where a beach resort was earlier developed at a cost of Rs.2.50 crore last year. The tourism infrastructure that has been created so far has been arrived at the cost of Rs.5 crore, and is likely to see more facilities way forward.
A special Beach Festival will be organised at Kothapantam in winter to promote beach tourism on a large scale. Similar events will also be held in other beaches subsequently.
