The famous Lord Prasanna’s Venkateswara’s Chariot festival, Rathotsavam commenced yesterday. The popular procession that forms a vital part of Brahmotsavams saw thousands of ardent devotees gathered.
Loud chants of “Govinda Govinda” resonated in the air as a beautiful wooden chariot decked with multiple flowers went around in a procession, carrying the idol of the Lord.
Young girls dressed in beautiful sacred orange ethnic outfits performed the ‘Kolatam’ ahead of the procession, as the chariot moved on.
The event was presided over by several important TTD officials.
