The new terminal of the Tirupati International Airport is currently work in progress. The project undertaken by Aadharshila Designs Pvt Ltd is set to see brand new interiors and idyllic touch reflecting the glory of the top global pilgrimage spot.

Vast Coverage and Interior Specs
The new International Tirupati airport is laid out in a site area of 300 acres. The scope of work taken up by the vendor includes master planning, detailed architectural, MEP, landscape and interior design. The integrated passenger terminal inside the new airport building covers roughly 3,90,000 sft in two phases.
The form of the airport has been evolved and conceptualised with the form of an eagle in flight i.e., Garuda, the carrier of Lord Vishnu. As Tirupati Tirumala Devasthanams is a famous pilgrimage renowned for its temple of Lord Venkateswara, a form of Lord Vishnu. The estimated cost of the project is approx Rs. 1470.0 million for phase I.
Prospects With New Developments
Inception of Indian Institute of Technology in Tirupati had opened the doors of numerous possibilities and also put the city of God in the center of business spotlight. Not to forget the scope for tourism and international travels. Plans are on to shift the domestic terminal from the old airport to the new one. The project was scheduled to complete in July but had been delayed in the light of obtaining various clearances and settling paper work.

Maitreya Sur, the Chief Project Architect confirmed that the new terminal project is now in its advanced stages and is likely to be unveiled in October this year.
