Beginning today, Chief Minister Sri N. Chandrababu Naidu will be on a two-day visit to Chittoor. With a view to promote growth of hospitality and tourism industry in the district, the Chief Minister plans to develop the district as a tourism hub giving a fillip to religious and eco-tourism. Tirupati will be the new centrifugal point for all expansion activities.
Makeover for Tirupati
Tirupati will get an 18-hole golf course, 4,000-seat international convention centre and a snow world. There are also plans to set up a night safari at the SV Zoo Park, along with a special elephant safari in Kuppam.
Tirupati and Tirumala towns will be transformed into destinations for meetings, incentives, conferencing, exhibitions (MICE) and prime wedding venues. One can produce necessary certificates of weddings or conventions held in the temple town to avail the special Darshan of Lord Venkateswara at the Tirumala temple. Wedding families will receive six VIP Darshan tickets. Through this, around 700 people will be given special Darshan tickets.
Sound And Light Shows
As part of plans to boost the religious tourism circuit in the district, sound and light shows would be organized at Srikalahasthi and Kanipakam temples.
Meanwhile, pending projects in the district have picked up pace. They include ropeways at Horsley hills and Puligundu, construction of a star hotel at Alipiri and establishment of a tourism circuit at Pileru.
