Vizag is all illuminated and set to host the Third BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) Urbanisation Forum Meet. The three day meet commences today (14th Sept) and concludes on 16th September.
The theme for the meet this year will be “Building responsive, inclusive and collective solutions for urbanisation”
Visakhapatnam, the future smart city of India will be officially hosting the summit, which will see important delegates discuss avenues that form prime crux of any urban setting. This year’s meet will largely focus on investments, formation of new cities and policies, and the underlying challenges along with possible solutions.
The core agenda will address three important points – Increased Productivity, Segregated System for Urban Finance and Employment Creation
The three-day meet will be officially inaugurated by honorary CM of Andhra Pradesh, Sri N Chandrababu Naidu, in the presence of Union Minister of Urban Development, M Venkaiah Naidu and several other dignitaries.
Mission Sunrise Andhra Pradesh has been the main aim for the State Govt, that has been working proactively to position AP on the global arena of investments, opportunities and possibilities.
After a detailed three day discussion on the core areas, a ‘Vizag Declaration’ will be prepared, which will play a vital role in the ministers’ conference of BRICS to be held on October 15 and 16 in Goa. Close to 70 delegates from Brazil, China, Russia and South Africa are expected to attend the three-day summit.
Tight security measures have been arranged throughout the city, with elite forces assigned at the meeting venue. Navy, Coast Guard and Coastal Security Police will also join up the security arrangements to check the threats coming from the seaside.
