PM Narendra Modi will be inaugurating the 104th Indian Science Congress today at the Tarakarama Stadium of Sri Venkateswara University in Tirupati. The congress which will flaunt the presence of eminent scientists and Nobel laureates will be addressed by the PM on the occasion.
The central them for the five day Science Congress is ‘Science and Technology for National Development’. As part of the function today, the PM will also honor and felicitate Nobel laureates at the Conclave. He will also be unveiling ‘Pride of India’ exhibit.
This is the second time that the prestigious event is being held in Andhra Pradesh, after a gap of 33 long years. This event will revisit all the developments made in the field of science and technology in the past, and will review the technology in the years to come. More than 12,000 scientists will attend the five day event, hailing from countries like Japan, France, United States, Bangladesh and Israel.
Some of the important topics that will be explored include setting up of national priority areas, science for economic development, focus on higher education etc. This apart, Children Science Congress will be held from January 4th to 6th at the Padmavati Mahila Viswa Vidyalayam.
