Mango Iced Tea – addictive and refreshing summer cooling drink!
Yeppie!! The mangoes are finally here. It’s time to welcome the king of fruit to a delicious savoring. Mangoes are delectable in any of the ways – sliced, pulped, even eaten along with skin. Juices, smoothies, jams and teas made with mango pulp are a great delight to enjoy in the summers.
This summer, let us try and add a very western touch to mangoes. Mango iced tea, one of the globally recognized chilled drink instantly comes to mind. If you thought that a mango iced tea is only a chef’s entitlement, we have a great recipe for you here that can be tried at home.
Mango iced tea is typically made with tea leaves and ripe mango puree. Serving freshly prepared mango iced tea is both healthy & refreshing.
Mango Iced Tea
Ripe Mangoes – 1 to 2, peeled and pulp pureed, refrigerated
Tea Leaves – 2 to 3 tsps
Water – 4 to 5 cups
Lemon juice – 1 tsp
Sugar – Adjustable. Those who are diet conscious can use honey instead
Ripe Mango Cubes and Mint Leaves – Garnishing
Ice Cubes – 10 to 12
- Bring the water to a boil, reduce the flame and add tea leaves. Allow the potion to simmer for a minute. Now, turn off flame, add sugar and allow the same to dissolve. Let the brewed black tea adjust itself at room temperature.
- Strain the prepared black tea into a large pitcher or jug. Add lemon juice and chilled mango puree. Mix well. Add mint leaves and allow the flavors to soak.
- Pour the set mango tea into glasses, add ice cubes.
- Garnish with ripe mango cubes, mint leaves and serve.
